THE PROJECT:

This coach house of a castle in Berbroek, Herk-de-Stad, was used to store carriages. As such, the interiors needed to be restored before it was treated. The coach house has 3 types of flooring; red terracotta, yellow terracotta, and brick paving.

Miranda from Sealer.bvba was contracted to restore the floors that were covered in grout haze, mortar mess, and paint. They were then asked to seal and enrich the colors of the floors.

• Dull, fading surfaces require an intense colour enrichment
• Premium water and oil repellence
• Treated surfaces has to be easier to clean and maintain

THE STAIN-PROOF^® SOLUTION:

Cleaning:

All floors of the coach house were covered in grout haze and mortar mess. Miranda used STAIN-PROOF Acidic Cleaner, formerly known as EFF-ERAYZA™, to remove the grout haze and mortar mess. The areas were then cleaned with the surface shampoo, STAIN-PROOF Alkaline Cleaner, formerly known as OXY-KLENSA™. 

Acidic Cleaner is a heavy duty cleaner for removing efflorescence, grout haze, rust marks, and mortar mess. It has the power of dangerous concentrated muriatic acid, without giving off noxious fumes. The slow reaction time of Acidic Cleaner allows for better control, and is safer to use as temporary contact with the acid does not burn skin.

Alkaline Cleaner is a heavy duty cleaner for natural stone and other hard surfaces. It cleans and removes stains from oil/grease, mold, leaf marks, food and beverages. Alkaline Cleaner comes in 100% powder concentrate and can be used to make poultices for removing deep stains.

Sealing:

To bring out the colors of the floors, STAIN-PROOF Color Enhancing Sealer, formerly known as INTENSIFIA™, was used. Color Enhancing Sealer is the ultimate combination of enhancer and sealer. It provides deep color enhancement and super oil and water repellence for superior stain protection. Color Enhancing Sealer is long lasting, not affected by UV light. It’s easy to apply and will not flake, yellow, crack, blister or peel.

Color Enhancing Sealer comes with a 5-year warranty if applied by a STAIN-PROOF Accredited Applicator.
