THE PROJECT:

Puerto Vallarta is a Mexican beach resort city situated on the Bay of Banderas brimming with hotels, resorts, and luxury condos.

The owner of this particular property found that the maintenance cost of cleaning the surfaces was too high. He needed a solution that would cut down the maintenance cost while providing superior stain protection as well as keeping his surfaces looking good for longer.

The lobby’s area was approximately 3500 sq ft (350 sqm). STAIN-PROOF Alkaline Cleaner, formerly known as Oxy-Klenza™, was used to clean the surface. Then, STAIN-PROOF Premium Impregnating Sealer, formerly known as STAIN-PROOF Original™, was used on the concrete floors. Finally, STAIN-PROOF Color Enhancing Sealer, formerly known as INTENSIFIA™, was used on the cement tiles to bring out the colors.

• Superior breathability, to ensure easy escape of the moisture inside the material
• To keep the surface looking good for longer and make cleaning easier, quicker, and less costly.
• The colors of the cement tiles need to be enhanced

THE STAIN-PROOF^® SOLUTION:

Cleaning:

STAIN-PROOF Alkaline Cleaner, formerly known as HANAFINN Oxy-Klenza™, a powerful, environmentally friendly, alkaline cleaner was used to clean the surface to ensure that all stains and marks are removed prior sealing. It is important to make the surface look just how the client want it to be before it is sealed as it may be impossible to remove stains after the surface is sealed.

The crew initially cleaned the surface with Alkaline Cleaner, but ran into a problem: the surface had previously been sealed with a topical coating. The coating had to be stripped off, before effectively cleaning with Alkaline Cleaner. After stripping off the existing coating, Alkaline Cleaner was used to remove existing dirt and grime. The surface became clean and free of residue, ready to be sealed.

Sealing:

STAIN-PROOF Premium Impregnating Sealer, formerly known as STAIN-PROOF Original™, was used on the concrete floors of the lobby. The sealer will protect the surfaces from common problems such as staining and efflorescence, as well as make the surface easier to clean and maintain. Premium Impregnating Sealer comes with a 15-YEAR PERFORMANCE WARRANTY when the product is applied by an Accredited Applicator.

Enhancing:

The client wanted to bring out the colors of the cement tiles in the lobby. For this, STAIN-PROOF Color Enhancing Sealer, formerly known as INTENSIFIA, was used.

Color Enhancing Sealer is the ultimate combination of enhancer and impregnating sealer, providing deep color enrichment plus unrivalled water and oil repellence. The UV-resistant, low-VOC enhancer will not discolor, crack or peel over time. Color Enhancing Sealer retains the wet slip resistance and breathability of surfaces. Color Enhancing Sealer comes with a 5-YEAR PERFORMANCE WARRANTY when the product is applied by an Accredited Applicator.
