THE PROJECT:

The Old Hall of West Yorkshire is a historic building developed into an exclusive residential estate in 2007. The boutique development was a flagship project for About Stone UK, who was directly responsible for all aspects of stone design, selection and supply for the project. The developer wanted to create a distinct feel of luxury for the property and did so with the extensive use of French limestone and iridescent Italian Mosaic Tiles. The home features six staircases, seven bathrooms indoor swimming pool, guest balcony and a private terrace. ABOUT STONE DESIGN wanted a sealer that would provide long-term protection of the floors from water damage and staining, while maintaining the non slip properties of the surface around the pool and wet areas.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The developer had particular prerequisites for choosing the sealer for this project:

• Superior stain protection and an extended lifespan.
• The look and finish of the Limestone had to be retained.
• Sealer must not affect the slip resistance of the surfaces.
• Sealed surfaces should be easier to maintain and clean.
• Due to the porous nature of limestone it is particularity vulnerable to water and salt damage, and required a sealer which could provide protection from salt spalling and efflorescence.

THE STAIN-PROOF^® SOLUTION:

STAIN-PROOF’s impregnators are unique – the chemistry is different from other impregnators.
